Ever sat in a room full of people, wondering why on earth they're interacting when they clearly don't enjoy each other's company?
Do they really care what each other's day was like? Do they just ask because it makes them feel good to know that they're caring? Do they only want to be asked in return?
I think the majority of people enjoy the sound of their own voice above anything else.The same could be said for world leaders: How many times have we heard the same problem being expressed in ten different, long and tedious ways? It only demonstrates today's politicians love talking about problems, so much so that they're reluctant to stop the discussions and pull through to solve them. Why is that? Talking about the problem shows the media the man is aware of the problem, that he understands it and is willing to discuss it with other politicians while wearing his smart and expensive suit. Who cares that the 'problem' consists of thousands of people suffering extreme poverty? We're 'in the process of adressing this issue', for now.
